Do you and your brother both have separate EA accounts you're playing on? Also, make sure the NAT is not strict. That is a setting you can change on your router. While checking that, also see if UPnP is enabled.

@EA_Aljo We have separate accounts. Router NAT connection is set to secure and UPnP is active. Both PS5 consoles show as NAT type 2 when checking connection

Thanks for getting back to me. As a test, can one of you switch your connection to use a mobile hotspot? This will help determine if the issue is due to your home network or ISP.

Used a mobile hotspot and we both got into lobby first try. Seems like it's definitely something to do with the home network / router.

It's a router/ISP issue then. Most likely, the router. Make sure the firmware is up to date. Also, you could try setting the NAT to open.
