My 96 Matthew tkachuk Stanley cup card didn’t upgrade to 98 after panthers won Stanley cup, wtf?!
That is the MSP version. The SCP base items upgraded based on the team's performance. MSP items need to be upgraded with collectibles. That particular one maxed out at 96.

Community ManagerThat is the MSP version. The Stanley Cup base cards were the ones that upgraded. So, I'm sorry to say, 96 is the max overall for that item.
