It isn't a custom league it is the 33 team expansion team option. Not sure if that mode has schedule settings?

We looked into this and found that this is normal behavior. When you add a 33rd team, the schedule needs to be adapted to fit them. It's created in a different way to accommodate the additional team.
I understand that the schedule would have to adjust but the majority of the games you face are set as if you are in the Pacific Division instead of the division with the 9th team.
If you are in Atlantic Division you shouldn't have ~4 games against every team in the Pacific Division and only 1-2 games against teams in the Atlantic Division.
