I think there is a disconnect between understanding the game from real life hockey, I also think that scoring has been made easier to increase excitement. I play strictly goaltender and can tell you that most people in the game either dont have defensive knowledge because theyre giving up breakaways and odd man rushes all game or the lack the in game knowledge to understand that their defensive awareness needs to be **bleep** near 95+ in order to consistently intercept passes without meeting a wide variety of parameters. Other instances include that Close Quarters can activate on snipes, 1Ts, dangles, etc. making this particular ability feel very overpowered. On top of this 1Ts were already hard to stop and the implementation of green 1Ts just made them **bleep** near impossible (I know this has been somewhat addressed). Looking at the stats, even the best goalies in the game are sitting around 81-82% Sv%, it would be nice for that to be closer to 90% as this is typically a real life statistic. (Maybe skaters complain its too hard to score, maybe not but I think its worth a shot since one of the biggest complaints is goalies let in too many "easy" goals.) This is just some of the things off the top of my head. We also still have the floating goalie issue, no updates on this has been very frustrating, even just an official release from EA saying they are aware and have been aware but are having trouble locating the code to make this change.
