Do we know if it was removed or if some thing new added to the game that is preventing EA from putting it back in the game? We just want to know what is going on as this is disappointing

I think the removal of Match Room Size and Match Goalie is a pretty new detail. We just don't have any explanation to go along with those new details, and the powers that be seem to keep acting like nothing has changed.
Just acknowledging the intention behind this change would go such a long way.
We just keep seeing 'thanks for the feedback' when this is brought up whereas other superficial questions about coach faces get detailed responses right away.
It's all so confusing and weird.
Community ManagerWe're not acting like nothing has changed. Obviously, there have been changes. There have been a couple of updates to matchmaking, which we announced. Along with a statement on matchmaking in general. Again, all I can say is that when we have an update, we'll announce it.
If you see some issues get answered, it's because I have answers for them. That's not the case with the MM issue. I have no details whatsoever to share on this currently. We'll have to wait.
The major issue is that EA won't explain WHY the matchmaking options were removed in the first place. We're not asking about future updates, we want to know the reason behind the change. This doesn't seem like it should be a major issue, but the constant tap-dancing around it is wearing thin.
It's things like this that create an antagonistic relationship with the community.

Kid... yesterdays patch has created a huge bug in Player progression where people are going to be MAX LEVEL by the weekend and EA wont even mention anything about it...
The Dev team went on Camera and promised us they were going to be a lot more transparent with the community in NHL 24 and let us know what's going on and well never happened even once... So you think they will come out and explain why match making is bare bones now?? ya not happening.
People move on match making is what it is not going to change for for this year anyways maybe for NHL 26

It's true. This development team needs a producer that will follow-through on community engagement and that doesn't just mean doing a "podcast" for some influencer. It means putting information/videos/blogs out yourself rather than this reliance on social media sleuths to do that.
