I just think these top streamers and/or glitch players know this game better than anyone and can speak more on what changes need to be made to mitigate the issues,
Although glitch players know how to manipulate the animations and logic to get the better of outcomes, I don't necessarily think they have the knowledge to know what changes need to be made to mitigate the exploits they're grinding.
I definitely think there's value in these guys streaming their exploitative gameplay so developers can observe the gameplay and using their underlying knowledge of the engine - determine what they might be able to do to both null an exploit while retaining balance and realism.

From my experience, there is no speed boost issue. The combination of vision control and puck protect allows the puck carrier to negate lateral skating animations that would otherwise impede the overall acceleration and top speed generated by the puck carrier. This gives the impression they're getting a 'boost' but they most definitely are not.
Yes, I would like to see this fixed up so that entering puck protect nullifies vision control (because protecting the puck at the same time as facing the net should feel cumbersome) but I imagine this kind of 'fix' will be saved for next release.
