According to chelhead.com I have 842 games played in net, I will say that defense is pretty horrific in this game, the majority of the shots come from inside the faceoff dots, or what it typically considered the slot, that being said I do think goalies need a bump specifically in the reactions department. I feel like I am forced to play with a hybrid build because it is the only build that can max agility to make a save on the majority of shots. On this note as well, I would love to see "No-Timer" available on a hybrid as a gold X-factor because that's where I find hybrid builds struggle most. And if you look at the statistics, I think youll notice hybrid as the overwhelming majority of user goalies as well. I know you said you play with AI goalies EA_Aljo and watching a user goalie vs an AI goalie their is a significant delay in reactions between the two and I think that's where a lot of the issue comes into play. The AI reads the play better, reacts to passes faster and has a more accurate animation towards said pass/shot. For example, AI goalies use what a user goalie would call a right stick animation to make up for lost ground where user goalies find the right stick to be more of a liability because more times than not it puts you out of position, this forces user goalies to abandon the right stick. Additionally, user goalies, specifically in butterfly have a hard time with the movement as it has you sliding around like a wet penguin on ice. Lastly, if you add user reaction + potential ping lag, you'll never be able to react as quickly or as precisely as an AI goalie. AI goalies have their own issues for sure but these differences between AI and user are where more frustrations come from. The weak goals users see that AI don't are because an AI is more quick and precise in its movements, its position, and are told through programming where they need to be where as a user goalie where fighting a battle from input lag, input reaction time, misuse of the correct input (aka not using the right stick when we should) and not knowing what "correct" positioning actually is for the game. When you start to see users hover around more of a high .800 sv% rather than a low .800 it'll be more of an acceptable range. However, people are going to have to realize that if this is something that happens you're gonna see more stretch like saves because user goalies are out of position more often than AI ones.
