Those goals aren't glitches. They can be stopped with good defense. If you're letting your opponent skate into the slot for a good shot, that's more of a breakdown in defense. Regardless, you can find details on goalie improvements in the gameplay blog .

Sorry mate but in my opinion any goal that is used over and over again with success would be classed as a glitch goal, a sweaty goal or whatever its called where you're from.
23 had the wrap around
24 has the cross crease and the far post goals.
It may be possible to defend against on occasions but its how the goalie reacts. Exploiting something that you know has the highest possibility of beating the goalie everytime and doing it continuously with success no matter what the player rating is, I'd call that a glitch goal. I don't know all the lingo you guys use in the US/Canada to describe things, I try my best with the limited knowledge I have of ice hockey. I'm Scottish, we live and breathe football (soccer). I'm in a tiny minority here that has any interest in NHL gaming.
I'm not trying to nit pick. Just curious/desperate to see if 25 is going to be better than 24.

Cross crease, far side, short side, these aren't glitches. Goalies could provide better coverage, I'll agree with that. Something like the puck phasing through the goalie would be considered a glitch. Not covering the post like their supposed to would also be in issue. I'm just saying, every year we have people claiming a goal is a glitch when it's really more about not recognizing your opponent is taking the same shot over and over again without defending it. A real team is going to look for holes in their opponent's defenses and exploit those. If there is a goal that's a legitimate glitch, we'll get it reported to the team for investigation.

I get all that but that doesn't explain why any goalie of any rating lets in the same goals constantly.
How you can say that isn't a weak point thats exploited.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree on that one mate.

It's ok if you think they are glitch goals but these are not labeled glitch goals. An example of a glitch would be the puck going thru the back of the net and going in. The goalie throwing the puck into the net.
Now goalies are getting lots of improvements that may cut down on some goals, but people are always crafty in finding ways to beat the CPU goalie regardless.
General Improvements
- Preemptive save decisions and animations.
- Improved poke check and puck cover responsiveness and situation-solving.
- Improvements to save motion coming onto the goalposts.
- Increased save range including better solving for lacrosse goals.
- Goalies stay on their feet longer and won't drop to or stay in butterfly if they have time to get back up.
Tweaks To Save & Capability Models
- Improved readiness for controlled and redirected saves.
- Rebalanced goalie precision.
Improved Decision-Making For Positioning
- One timers.
- Facing in-tight shots.
- Challenge distances.
New Actions Added
- AI goalies will use the spread-v.
- User goalies can saucer pass.
- Goalies can cover the puck off of a teammate's stick to better protect their own goals.
- Post-goal emotional reactions.
- Pad stack and desperation side poses are now merged.

hey stubo, American with 32% Scotch ancestry here. Glad you have caught the sport. I never could get into what the rest of the world calls football. it is way too slow. There is more action in 5 minutes of hockey than a whole football match. Watching two teams battle to a zero zero tie with 5 total shots on net is not my idea of excitement. Did you ever have indoor soccer there? We had it here for a while. I liked it better than outdoor because the game moved faster. I still prefer hockey.

That is a good example of an actual glitch. Thankfully, one that isn't being exploited. This is the first I've actually heard of it.

When playing in franchise I figured out a move that worked 90% of the time, so I did the move over and over and over, AI never figured out how to defend against the move. From center, pass to left or right wing, enter the zone, pass back to center for a one timer. Reality, the team and goalie would have figured this out and quickly defended against it. That being said, AI will never be able to learn things and react the same way that human players would. Humans have teams that study the plays on the fly and will make adjustments to strategy, as well as now having earpieces in where their team analyst can tell them what strategy or play is being used more, allowing for more adjustments. Its the reality of video games and sports, every edition is going to have certain moves or plays that work far more often. The next year/edition you go to try that and it won't work as well, but a different move will. The scoring on their own net bugs me more than plays that an AI simply isn't adjusting to. My thoughts on it, no game will ever be perfect, they all have certain flaws and/or deficiencies. My only hope is that with each year we see improvements
