How have they not fixed the short side for goalies this year? It was bad enough last year but worse in 25. The goalie will give up the short side when the shooter has zero other options. Yet another year of 1-2 changes while neglecting everything else....
I'd love to see some videos of the short side goal happening repeatedly and effectively in a single game.

My whole point of seeing the video is to see how their defense is and why they are giving up the same shot/location. I watch some of the best HUT Champers and know what they tend to do. The OPs post is bland of any real information just says short side "cheese". I want to know and see why the goal is happening so much. If they are giving up some prime real estate then I'm not gonna blame the shot but the defense. Now if the goal is going in 15 ft out shortside below the circles very often then I'd say the shot is needing toned down or goalies more aware. Plus they want to see videos as references when we talk about issues people have.
I can’t speak for HUT or any offline modes, but WOC goalies were in a decent spot towards the beginning of last year’s game, all the way until right after the new year when they purposely nerfed AI goalies to try to incentivize playing goalie more as a human. This seems to have carried over to this year also, and ever since, the AI goalies in WOC have been absolute trash. That decision still baffles me. Sometimes you don’t even have a chance to do anything at all on defense because weak shots from low percentage spots that the goalie should be seeing all the way still make their way in more often than they should. As a defender, that’s extremely frustrating and does not promote a fun competitive experience whatsoever.

Most likely OP is sitting back and letting the CPU defend thats the only way it would be happening consistently to him but now people just spam D2D one timers because it's a higher chance so I see it less or could be because I play aggressively on defense.
It could be the short side glitch I do where I skate down the wing while protecting puck and once I get just below the circle I let go and go left right for a snipe on a dumb angle. That works like 60% min of the time.
Coming from a player that only plays offline (gave up on online in NHL 22) - I can confirm that as long as you play on a high difficulty that you will get goalies that are competent and able to steal games for you or the AI team. Most of my games are close and usually have to work hard to get goals. Even the one-tee issue that was online was not affecting Offline and now it is even more reduced. I can games without one going in. I have even had some highlight reel saves by my AI controlled goalie and the AI opposing team goalie.
I think this is the most fun I have had and feel the games are actually a good challenge where I have to fight for wins now, whereas in NHL 24, you had to do a few types of goals to win games and were almost automatic.
Community ManagerI don't see 3 goals a game getting scored this way, but my club also knows how to defend it. If you can get video showing this getting scored repeatedly, feel free to post it.
