This is not true. As I've demonstrated countless times in this forum - you can enter DSS without executing a poke check. You need to hold RS to the left or right position and then intitiate DSS. This negates the poke check animation and allows the defender to maintain speed and even accelerate by using hustle. The fact you don't know this and are insistent that defenders are slowed down while holding their stick out demonstrates a fundamental lack of understanding of the nuance in the controls in this game.

Once again - using DSS you can manually aim where you poke check. This is an advanced mechanic for people with advanced abilities on the controller. Just because you haven't understood/mastered them yet or deny/ignor that these are real mechanics, doesn't mean the game is broken. You need to learn how to use these mechanics better.
