How to play nhl 25 online versus with a friend?

We play at work all the time but i purchased a ps5. Ps plus. And ea connect just to play at home and he has xbox. We cant cross play with normal rosters?

Hi there. I'm sorry to say, crossplay is not available for Online Versus.
