As an offline only player I find it fluent and a huge upgrade to how it has been. The movement and options it opens up for defence is beneficial for myself and the AI. It's sad to see how it's being utilized online, but don't feel that alone should warrant it to be removed.

Well than have it for offline modes only but it's current state it needs to be removed for online play
Sadly, I can't see it being removed from one and not the either (would take a large amount of time and effort).
