I think this is where it comes down to a mode discrepancy imo. Personally, if youre gonna be in a competitive skill based atmosphere (multiplayer) then I have to agree, it should be player only penalties. If youre gonna play a simulation like franchise mode or a connected gm type of deal where you arent really keeping track of online stats or where stats get reset every time you restart a franchise then I would want CPU penalties. But when online keeps track of your win/losses, PIM, +/-, etc and there is no reset then I wouldnt want a CPU penalty to be the difference in a game.
