For your issue with changing lines/strategies before the puck drops, currently, you'll just have to get to know those controls. It would be nice if there were an easier way to change these though. I'll pass on the feedback.
As far as number 3 goes, try a one touch pass. Just hit the pass button before you pick up the puck and it will one touch it in the direction you're aiming. However, this probably won't have the strength behind it you're hoping for.
We're aware of how aggressive the AI players are. Hopefully, this will be better balanced in the future.
