NHL 25 Feedback

Decided to pick this game up for $35 dollars on a Black Friday Deal, knowing the game is going to be complete garbage but hoping I would be wrong. After playing about 20-25 games I’ve quickly realized that this is the same game as last year with a few minor touch up’s. The physics of this game are broken, the graphics are the same, goal scoring is the same old crap, 2 on 1 slap shots past the goalie. It’s really a shame that a company can release the same thing year after year and charge $70 bucks.

  • I play World of Chel and OVP.  Top 300 player every single year since 09. HUT is full of people who require a full roster of 99 OVRs to make up for their lack of skill. These same players will try OVP, attempt the same maneuvers with Josh Brown that they do with Connor McDavid and then blame EA when Brown doesn't wheel-snipe-celly just like Connor.

Lecturing and making straight assumptions about someone being inherently bad at game without context is simply belittling, which your last sentence continues to do.

What evidence can you provide that the game is working perfectly? Absolutely none. I can’t either provide you that evidence as this game was stripped from control input history in replays years ago.

As an offline only player; I find that the passing is more realistic compared to prior games. Is it less accurate, I can see the argument in that, but also, in NHL 23 and 24, passes were too accurate and made it offer less realism cause there should be no pass that is 100% guarantee. When looking at teams passing percentages after games in my franchise mode the average for myself and the AI team is usually around 80% - 85%, compared to NHL 24 where the AI passing would be in the 90% range or higher, which was unrealistic.

I have had missed passes but usually falls on me for not timing the pass correctly. I have also learned that stretch passes don't work as well (which again makes sense - they are risk reward type of passes), where as doing short passes have a higher completion rate.

The overall gameplay feels better overall and feels more like a SIM experience instead of the Arcade experience of NHL 23 and 24.

  • lol.. 35$. Game is 2 months old. Game does not sell. No buyers. We all know why but EA is probably suprised.

  • Kid are you writing this seriously or because you maybe get some HUT Card packs from EA?

Top 300 in a non competitive game mode... Congrats! I've placed top 50 in hut champs where players actually try. Lmao top 300. So div 4.

Speaking for the offline experience and at a high difficulty a lot of these issue don't persist. Goaltending is actually a bit better then last year, is it perfect, no it is not. There is still some weird animations but at least this year at high difficulty goalies make you work for goals (user controlled teams and AI). Most of my games are close in average shots (24-20 as an example) and scores reflect that style of game (depending on how each goalie plays), average scores are 3-2, 2-1, 4-3. The boost by a defenseman and cross crease goal is not frequent at all, the spin in the corner and in front of the net is still there but defense will cover it better so its not guaranteed either.

The green Tee one timers in offline were never OP to start with and with the last nerf they are even more rare. Now I can go 4-5 games without one going in even if I green it. I need to make sure there is some kind of screen in front of the net to have a chance on most.

The skater movement is better overall, allowing more movement and helping to set up actual powerplay in zone plays.

AI is still hit or miss but overall is better then NHL 24. I find that if there is a player alone it usually comes down to my mistake or placement or going for a hit instead of playing the puck.

There isn't much to anything for super speed offline - higher speed players can beat some defense men but they catch up 90% of the time if you go behind the net. Also, its more common if you use stamina strategically (which was something that was non existent in NHL 23 and 24 - where speed and stamina were OP and non realistic).

I'd say the graphics are better and worse at the same time. Some of the player models and faces look better but other parts have not changed or worse (missing the ice show while skating and to some degree show build up).

NBA isn't a great comparable as it does offer a lot more but also monetizes 1000 times more. So you said paying $70 but if this had the same format of 2K it would $70 + upwards to $50 to $200+ depending on which modes you play online ( I do agree that competition would be ideal for NHL as a whole)

He's just someone who enjoys disagreeing with people. You can show him a blue sky and he would argue why it's yellow.

Thread locked since it's devolved into calling each other out. In the future, I recommend adding video along with your claims that back up these are bugs and not skill issues.
