The game is under Frostbite, the engine is designed to build on several platforms including PC. Apart from ensuring compatibility with controller inputs, optimization and advanced settings, seriously everything should be practically basic. As far as I know, the developers are testing the game on PC with Frostbite before building it and testing the optimization on console. Optimization on console is more complex than on PC.
The entire compatibility part of different PCs, Nvidia, Radeon, Intel AMD etc. should be basic supported by frostbite, the good game engine already takes care of this compatibility.
At this stage it is extreme laziness not to plan a release on PC.

It's not laziness at all. Porting the game is just one piece. Supporting it is another. Not to mention licensing. There is a very large amount of work and investment for a much smaller playerbase. Madden and FC have the playerbase to support a PC version. Hockey, being a niche sport, does not currently. We would love to have a PC version of the game. However, it also needs to be done when it makes sense. Hopefully, that happens in the future.

hockey doesnt grow from the terrible representation of the sport that EA puts out every year either, watching and playing hockey is nothing at all like playing this game

Of course it's not. Just like playing Call of Duty is nothing at all like actually being in combat.
These are videogames. Virtual representations of anything are never going to fulfill a 1:1 realism need, outside of maybe games based on cards like Poker.
The growth of the sport itself is the responsibility of those in power at the NHL, PWHL and other elite hockey organizations.
EA's 'growth' is about capturing gamers and unfortunately for the old purists, that's going to involve adding "shiny objects" to the game to entice the Fortnite generation to buy-in to a game like this.

EA_AljoIt's certainly a mix of both laziness and the stuff you listed. However, I only wanted to respond to point out something that's clearly overlooked. How many players of the NHL franchise mainly play on PC but only utilize console for titles like this? My entire group of friends that play including myself keep an xbox around to simply play NHL. If this title was on PC I wouldn't even maintain having a relevant console.
Keep telling the player base these excuses and maybe one day we'll buy into it. Maybe instead we will be blessed with the rights being revoked and picked up by another dev company that isn't so narrow minded when it comes to this.

Agreed, Literally everyone I play with we all are on PC, a few of them with older consoles after seeing reviews are not investing in a newer console just to play NHL as well. EA needs to stop beating the dead horse with feedback from NHL 09 and put out a new NHL title on PC. EA made 7.5 billion in FY24, they can afford to put a new NHL game on PC after 16 years and if they are too worried about people modding then add an anticheat.
Closest we got was being able to cloud play it but you need god tier wifi for it to even be stable and even then there were countless interruptions with the streaming service.
They claim they did surveys about putting it on PC but you need to sign up for their newsletter to get them. So mixed in with a bunch of useless emails would of been a survey and I can guarantee you 90% of players don't sign up for them. They can't seriously think thats the most reliable way see if there is support for it on PC.
All they need to do is put a new version of NHL on PC and they will see, and by the off chance it doesn't get support they still will make their money back from all the microtransactions they've added.

Since EA decided to not release NHL 25 for Xbox One/PS4 I'd say the support EA was allocating for upkeeping Xbox One/PS4 versions can be put into a PC version.

FIFA now (FC) had a problem where AMD cards wouldn't work properly with the game so it isn't as easy as we would hope it to be.
Sure the Xbox One and PS4 are now dropped. But they still have to make sure it works for Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X, PS5, and in November the PS5 Pro which who knows if they will take advantage of the improved power of that console.
