Why is there such a big push on the offensive side dominating this game, the forwards in this game are allowed to hip check all over the ice with no calls. This game needs to be balanced so the defense can have a chance to do something. for the goalies, they probably have the highest percentage of goals against in the history of video games.

There wasn't much effort put into the game this year. It's the same thing as NHL 23 where it was a bare minimum effort with zero updates to fix anything to buy the studio more time for next year's NHL. NHL 23 had no update for fast wraps or any glitch goals the whole year and in 25 were on that same pace of no fixes considering it's end of December and there is still a LT skating glitch and one tee spams being the centre focus of every offense.Goalies save impossible rush 2on1 one timers but a backhand from the Blueline fools them.Back skating is extremely slow on defense.Hitting is non existent unless you do hipchecks. And regular hits just don't connect because of the skating LT glitch or an opponent turning to face the boards.You can't do poke checks because of the LT speed glitch that baits tripping calls. THE only way to play high level defense is to collapse in front of the goalie and block the shot then collect the rebound.Last time I played, the META was to use all ur ability points on ur forwards because of how useless defense is this year.Offline I admit was fun to play this year but online there is no fun in winning this year.

Agree about everything said, as someone who primarily plays defense. I do feel like this game caters to only scoring and nothing else, not even assists. Sometimes it also seems as if the game decides when you’ll be successful on defense or not, no matter what you do. Nothing is more frustrating than when you feel like you take the puck away, only for them to get it right back or it drifts over to a teammate, and they score. Or when you force them to take a bad angle weak shot that goes in anyway.

That's one of the frustrating things this year, you box them out perfectly and they shoot from an off angle shot that bounces off the goalies blocker and in orrrrr the goalie fumbles the puck and spins around to put it in the net. It happens so much in HUT, it's ridiculous how many games are not won by skill but by chance. It's a gamble even when you are dominating the game. Why do we have worry about an off angle shot from outside the circle.

It's kinda difficult to see, but if you zoom in, the puck appears to hit the blade of the goalie's stick, deflects up and off either the stick shaft or the post, arches across to the opposite post, falls down behind the goalie where the goalie starts swinging wildly and knocks the puck into his own net.EA_Aljo Brother man, what are we DOING here!? Can these poor goalies get a break? I swear, this game feels like we've constantly got Bad Luck Brian in net. It feels like a Final Destination movie where, no matter what you do, some impossibly unlikely series of events will inevitably happen and the puck will find itself in the net.I get it. Wild things happen in hockey. Pucks take funny bounces at times. But, bruh, does this kind of nonsense have to be constant?

Exactly, ea needs to reward defender if they force the foward to take a low percentage bad angle shot, not bail them out.

No respect for Defense and Goalies.

My “favourite “ goals are the ones where you poke it off your opponent (or your opponent pokes it off you) at least 6 foot away and it calmly slides under your goalie’s foot who’s leaning against the post.

or how if you’re back checking on d, and your stick can get caught up in your opponents body but if you check you will trip him, or if you don’t have the puck, you get those neat animations trying to get around someone but on offence you have no problems having your stick morph through opponents when you’re shooting … it happens all the time

don’t get me wrong, this is the best version of this game I’ve played for EASHL …. I wish next year they just focused on goalies and defense.

Brother man, not like this. The dev team at EA needs to put some serious time into fixing issues with goalies covering the puck/knocking the puck into the net. NHL 26 needs to focus HARD on refining and improving goalies and defense.
