Offense and Defense tips for new players

Hey, NHL Fans. We've released a couple videos highlighting offense and defense tips for new players.

  • For generalized information this is great. But it would be nice if the team could release advanced information, such as what is correct positioning to avoid getting penalized. A definition and visual example with each stick move would go a long way to some transparency with the community.

Appreciate the feedback. It would be good to have more advanced tips as well.

Agreed. I think the devs just need to bring back training camp, build onto it, and add one into EASHL with customizable practice situations. I've trained a lot of friends in this game and half the training is just on the fly because we can't create practice scenerios. I'd love to give them a few reps in trying to score 2 on 1 or defending a 2 on 1. Or what to do in specific situations. Maybe work on breakouts how to defend the blue line or stop a rush. Create team chemistry together through some reps instead of on the fly.

I appreciate them making the video but how many people is it reaching? Training camp was a good starting tool for new players. I used it when I first started. (One big change I'd make is letting us use a player of our choosing/ our EASHL player because using a lefty meant going back into practice and doing those dekes again. I can do them with a lefty/ righty now but when I started all the controls were forign to me so that made it even more confusing.

The biggest issue is that the people that could use the training likely skip it 😄

I agree bringing back the training camp would be a great way to alleviate the frustration with being new to the game. I'd love to see it return someday.

Honest question EA_Aljo do the devs check the discords here or do they rely on you to navigate what you believe to be note worthy information and bring it to them. Its alot for one person IMO and one would hope they would do some of the leg work as well.

The devs keep an eye on various forums and social media channels. Typically, what's reported here is also mentioned on other sites so they often are aware of what's going on.

  • I wonder why this is not shown in the game these videos  🤦‍♂️

These videos and having some other advanced tips videos should be included in the game when a tutorial is made for the game. NCAA 2005 had something like this where they had beginner and advanced gameplay videos to help players learn the game.
