Potential issue with vision control

I recorded this clip the other day. I was positioning myself for a one-timer, so I held LT/vision control to get my player ready. However, despite holding vision control, my player at one point decides to just skate forward normally instead of mohawking. Because of this, when I finally received the pass, I wasn't positioned for a one-timer, so my player took a regular wrist shot instead.
I think the issue has to do with the passing lane being obscurred by another player which seems to disrupt player movement when using vision control. This shouldn't be the case, as players in real life wouldn't need to close their hips just because someone skated into the passing lane. They'd have no problem contuing with their mohawk skating.
