I tried using the link you provided since I’m having the same issue. It’s saying that I may need to try to redeem on a different device or that I may be ineligible to redeem. On my Xbox it is saying that something isn’t right and to try again later. I contacted the retailer I bought it from and they claimed that EA knows about this issue and is working to fix it, but I don’t know if that’s true.

I'm having the exact same issue with the exact same error messages, except I got my copy through Walmart. Did you ever happen to get this resolved? I spoke to EA customer support for 1½ hours only for the support person to say "There's nothing we can do" and then end the chat on me.
