It definitely feels like something is a bit off with the pressure system early in NHL 25. I can't say if the changes are intentional or not.
First, it seems like every shot gives two ticks to the pressure meter. This feels like a bit much to me, but it may be OK on its own. Secondly, and probably the biggest issue, pressure takes a long time to go away even when you've cleared the zone. I think the combination of these things is a problem what needs to be addressed.
First example: Our opponents had three ticks on the pressure meter and took a penalty against our AI winger. Our AI failed to score on the penalty shot, which resulted in a faceoff in their end. They win the faceoff, go down ice and take a single shot which results in "full" pressure because there was no relief at all from a penalty shot and a faceoff in the other team's end.
Second example: Our opponents had four ticks on the pressure meter. We got the puck out of our zone with 4:11 left in the period, they didn't get it back in until 2:07. Over two minutes of game time and nearly 20s of real-time. The pressure meter only went down a single tick. That feels excessively slow.
