Disagree. Having an action that can avoid a poke check is nice to have.
Best counter to pokecheck is moving the puck around and using your teamates, i'm not sure why we need ANOTHER excuse to not do that lol.
Because with how "delayed" hits can be (not a fan of btw), sometimes its better to hold it and blow through an aggressive defender vs passing it off only to get "legally" hit over a second later by a guy with truculence essentially sapping you of your entire energy meter.

It just adds another layer of puck possession to give you more tools in any given context.
