Roster moves at end of season

I had two rookies to begin the season that I did the win the calder conversation with and one of them won the calder. However because the player who won the calder is a 77 ovr they were automatically sent down immediately after the cup final is over which is also the trigger for the calder conversation since the awards are also set at that time. The calder conversation pops up for the second rookie since they are a 79 and stayed on the roster. So the rookie who did not win the calder received the conversation for the calder win and the potential upgrade and attributes while the rookie who actually won gets nothing in the AHL. Why would auto roster moves that are not necessary even happen at the end of the season and how in the world does the other rookie get the boosts instead? Makes no sense and is super annoying
