So from what I understand about this game the further out you shoot the more reactive the goalie is (disclaimer: goals still go in and of course those weird bounces, etc. But lets assume those are anomalies.) which is pretty realistic and makes a lot of sense. Getting in tight to the goalie will make reacting harder, hence it is easier to score when you deke like you explained and why defense needs to be a priority this year on keeping the front of the net clear. If you want to be more successful from further out, you need to wear down the goalie more with shots, this will tire him out resulting in a drop in attributes resulting in a much easier time scoring from further out. IMO This was what the implementation of the pressure system was meant to do and how the hope was to have more shots per game.
