That's kind of the point I was making - a league like LG is only slightly different than drop-ins. Anonymous randoms for the most part who will be blamed for everything if they're not part of the in-crowd on their team.
Having a consistent team year over year builds relationships and if you have a good crew, people take responsibilities for their mistakes rather than try place blame elsewhere. Not to mention doing so is the only way to actually get any better.
Fair assessment, but that is my experience since I don't have a group like you speak of and I have only been a part of the community for a short time.
