They can't just add goal songs, goal horns without permissions/licenses. If teams don't give them OK for stuff it can't happen. Winter Classic isn't worth keeping up with and you don't even know how the layout will look the year it comes since it gets built in such a short time. For me personally hockey presentation is fine I'm just pressing the A button cause very few things are highlight reels.
Also you can't spend money if you aren't making lots of money. They are giving budgets based on sales and the licenses they do have are not cheap. If you had seen in social media lots of people had recently lost their jobs from EA. College Football has a huge following so they get the sales and thus have a bigger budget. But look at FC 26 they sell a huge amount of games and you would think they would have the perfect product but they don't. They get tons of complaints about lots of the same stuff NHL does.
IMO it's like 1 of my favorite shows that is just getting cancelled. They had a great budget for the 1st 2 seasons then they were told they had to cut back for Season 3. Then they got even a smaller budget for their hail mary sesaon 4. And now they aren't getting a 5th season. The NHL dev team is trying their best to give a great product whether you want to believe it or not. But ultimately you spend your money how you want and that is perfectly fine.
