I'm convinced the whole Dev team got laid off .I can't understand what they were thinking with this release. They can't even market the game beyond hut and preorders at this point because they have nothing substantial to market. Someone screwed up big time
This really isn't the case. We still have a dev team and they're very busy getting ready for launch. More news will be coming on the way to release.

I’m thinking that now isn’t the time to be “busy getting ready for launch”. That’s what the team should be doing months in advance. Sounds more like scrambling than getting ready.

I feel you but game dev is REALLY like that. You're building the plane in the air, so to speak.
Programmers are going to be getting as many bug fixes in as they can for the day one patch. The art/sound teams are probably chilling at this point (for the most part).

Why hasn't the dev team cleared you to provide more information about the game? Just 2 weeks out from launch, you'd think they would allow you to communicate with your most die-hard fans relatively openly.
Another question: do you work on-campus or are you remote? I've always wondered how that affects your communication with the dev team.
