I think superstar difficulty gives AI an advantage in attributes. Some games at max difficulty give the AI an in game advantage like having significantly more health than you. I think in this case the AI maybe has a higher attribute increase to their players across all stats. I could be wrong though.

I have my attribute rating at 9/10 and my fatigue is up to 99/100. This way when they get tired, their skills theoretically goes down too. And my fatigue recovery is at 7/100. BUT this is based on 8min periods. Your mileage may vary. This way the first line is not out for 40min in a game. And when they are on, they get tired. 7/100 recovery will have the Defense play about 22-26 min per game and the forwards will play around 20-22min. Depends on factors like Penalty kill and Power Plays and so on. This way the 4th line will play about 8-11 min per game. Just eliminates the top players being on the ice all the time.
