EA_Aljo This is my last post on this since no one at EA cares anyway It's a shame how EA treats offliners... these changes today are so bad40% less XP in Squad Battles games even though the games last longer since there are no rage quits/mercy rulesWith this change you are forcing offliners to play online to complete the XP path

Now that Weekly Competitive are gone, if you only play offline you get no coins in the Squad Battles objectives, only 4 packs, no more 32,500 coins, I guess now NHL is an online game and why reducing XP reward for Squad Battle games, so now every difficulty is the same amount of XP, Rookie or Superstar at 4 min is average 1250 XP.

As a squad battle player this is ridiculous. If the goal is to force as many players to quit your game as possible, then good job! You claimed the goal was play how you want, this is the exact opposite. Even if you would have just boosted rewards for online players you would have gotten less backlash, but crippling rewards for squad battles is going to enrage a large portion of the player base and your customers. And I hear the defense from online players is that EA wants to reward based on difficulty, yet every difficulty in squad battles is now exactly the same, so that defense is as broken as this game is. The dev team this year for HUT is completely incompetent. We all support this game regardless of how we choose to play it, so catering to one playstyle and to one type of customer is an absolutely stupid strategy, but par for the course with EA.

This is really awful to offline players, I won’t be spending anything until it’s fixed. I don’t want to play online.

We do actually care. If we didn't, I wouldn't be here every day gathering feedback for the team. When I played HUT in previous years, the majority of my play was in Squad Battles so I can understand why offline players would be upset. I'll make sure feedback on this is reported. Online will cry once again and they will change it once again to keep them streamers happy. It’s called a big L EA on season 3 Hut Squad Battles. You just showing favourites to online players with the loss of coins to offline players. Which in return is not treating your customers the same that called bing bias towards offline to online. We should have the same rewards as online. And it’s called discrimination towards offline players/paying customers. Do we not have the same rights as online players yes we do. Are you forcing online game play to offline players yes based on Hut Squad Battles season 3 you just broke your own policies EA is bias towards offline paying customers.

I want the same rewards as online players get I paid preorder price for the game cash for coins that’s my choice just like anyone else’s right. I have a right to the same rewards EA if you don’t then your saying it with out saying it your catering to online and being bias towards offline paying customers. FIX it EA

Beyond this, it concerns me that the community manager engaging in the HUT forums does not know the reasons for such a large and player-type targeted change. That probably means that there is either no good reason and thus you were not made aware to enable you to say you do not know or that there is little to no interest within EA to support the HUT community meaningfully (arming you with the info about changes to help us understand).
I look forward to a quick resolution of the reduction in squad battle rewards and other offline targetted reductions as the "https://www.ea.com/games/nhl/nhl-25/features/hut" page still clearly indicates EA's target idea that I bought this year's game for: "that every HUT mode rewards you the same, no matter where you play". This is huge for those who can only play a game mode that can be paused and resumed repeatedly as life dictates.
Thanks for making NHL games and for including the PWHL. I am always open and willing to talk product features as a paying customer if you want.

The big picture there is more offline players then there is online players why because offline players don’t like facing cheaters and glitchers and the last lag switchers and hackers can now even crash your internet if they are getting smoked by a person. EA forcing offline players online to play against that it’s called stress EA so if a offline player goes and plays online now and suddenly suffers a heart attack because of the stress of the game play and cheaters online and hackers. That’s why EA wants is to stress your offline paying customers. Good job EA you just showed us loyal OG paying customers you don’t care about your customers wants and needs when it comes to treatment that you just showed your offline paying customers big L EA

Fix the rewards. Are you guys trying to lose people or retain your player base. I don't have time to do rivals and sb every week, and there are people who don't even like or can't play online. Fix it or youre gonna lose even more of an already small player base.

What happened to "play your way" it's now play how we tell you to... There's literally people who have no other option then to play offline, and now you guys just screwed half your base out of rewards.

Online play could of received an increase in XP without touching squad battles at all. I really hope this was just a bug, either way Squad battles XP should return to how it was at the very least, and if EA wants to apologize they can add more XP to squad battles for a week. But its EA so I doubt they would even consider this.

Ah they quietly fixed this and reverted the squad battles XP. Have not seen anything on here aside from different posts from other players saying it has been fixed. Checked it myself though and Squad battles XP is back to how it was!

There was reasoning in the blog as to why this change was initially made. I also couldn't provide further comments while the team was looking into making changes that eventually went through.

We had posted the reasons for the initial change in the blog. Regardless, these changes have been reverted. Hopefully, we'll do a better job of communicating changes in the future.
