Skewed player stats

On what planet does a 72 rated skater (low energy) catch up to an 89 rated skater, fresh off the bench (from 2 zones away)? 89 rated player comes off the bench and skates into a breakaway. 72 rated skater comes from behind my net to catch and break up the shot.

    Every player is somehow faster than an 89ovr player šŸ™„ ... since not a single 89 exists in NHL 25 HUT

        lol, this thread is 29 days old ... of course there are 89ovr cards in HUT by now.

        But this was not the case when you created this thread

    My whole teams speed, acceleration and agility is above 89 except the rocket who has a low agility. I seen outcountless times guys catch my mcDAVID full GREEN BAR. lol

    My belief is they have a boundary on lower OVERall teams, As in lets say you have a high ranking OVERALL attributes team and the player you are playing is much lower, the higher OVR Team's AI aspect gets a behind the scenes handicap to keep within a boundary to make the game fair. Poke checks dont work, with a 86 overall player who has a 90 poke check, he takes tripping penatlies, they get caught out of position, worse positioning, they make bad line changes and the goalies let in softer shots. 

    But yet when you play teams with closer attributes the game play is natural, more realistic, no crazy stupid penalties, TOA, shots all align with the outcome of the game. Personally I used to only play versus to avoid this HUT handicap. But when you go from Versus to HUT you see it very easily. 

    Ive played guys with 82 top skater, my team being 84-85, TOA is 11 minutes to his 3 mins scoring chances all over the ice, he takes 5 shots scores 3 goals and he wins 3-2. 

    This has happened more times then I could count. My goalie is flopping all over the ice these guys Im playing are scrubs but the mechanics of the game change. I can tell with 5-10 seconds when my pokes dont work. AI is out of position and I cant select the player who is in position defensively to stop the play against the opponents player who is about to or who has the puck. When this happens their is some mechanic in the background that is allowing/ not allowing this to happen right before the other team scores.

      There is no behind the scenes handicap. Payers aren't force to play outside their attributes and stamina just to balance out the game.

      Tripping penalties are taken when you hit the skates with a poke check. Regardless of the stick checking rating. It would be good to see video of when you feel they shouldn't be happening.

      This is possible if you're giving them opportunities to score. Every shot on net is a chance. There's no rule in hockey that says you have to take X amount of shots before a goal is allowed.

      There is no mechanic forcing this to happen. Again, it's something we'll need video of to see what's happening.

    I have had similar issues. McDavid and Barzal cant out skate 80 spd dmen. Goalies giving up awful goals as well. Full tilt at end of games, be even and 1-1 then the next 4 shots go in, in last 4 mins. way up on shots and toa then opposing goalie stands on his head. 

    Usually in HUT Champs. Matchmaking also brutal. This week I got off to a bad start then get crushed by a guy with top 100 card, so assuming he wasn't 2-5. So bad.

    I tried to contact help to voice concerns and it crashed too. šŸ™ƒ

        I showed you several videos in NHL24 and it is still happening in 25. Defense men skating backwards at the same speed McDavid is skating forward. CPU goes into temporary "GOD" mode where they can't be stopped until they score. Every time you check them or poke check them the puck is just onto another CPU stick. Passing while hitting the ice with pinpoint accuracy. And don't get me started on SEMIPRO playing like Superstar from last year. It's just no fun to play offline. Can't play online because I end up crushed by all the kids with nothing better to do than game 24/7. It's why I stopped playing in October until last week and it's why I'm probably done for good now. Terrible AI.
