This game is dead

They completely killed off the casual fan base of HUT. If you want to compete in rivals div 2 and up or champs you have to abuse the broken mechanics. Casuals don't wanna play like this. They gave us no defensive tools this year to stop someone from abusing the mechanics. I quit this year super early because I'm bored having to abuse broken stuff, it's not a rewarding feeling to win.

At least with NHL 24 if someone wanted to dance around in your zone you could crunch them because of that speed up hit boost which was a joke to begin with. Now when someone does it, you have to sit back and just wait for them to shoot. The issue with this is if they are up a goal, they can kill an entire period in ur zone. Every HUT champs game was score 1st then play keep away in the opponent's zone.

Icing on the cake is the goalies who can't save a backhand shot from the Blueline but somehow stop a perfect green timed, slot shot.

Yes, I've been playing this game since it was invented and while I have to admit I've been frustrated with it in the past it has never made me quit the game altogether after only a few weeks into the season.  I know a handful of friends (and family) who have also quit this game completely this year.  There are some really good improvements in gameplay this year, but sadly the problems far outweigh any good that has come from this years iteration of the game.  I'm very sad because I don't have a hockey game to play this year now and I feel like this may be the last year for what used to be one of the best sports video games around.

Thanks. That's frustrating for sure. We're aware that this is happening. Thankfully, it can be defended, but I get the disappointment from it.

Hi.  Ok, for context I have gravitated over the years to HUT and strongly prefer that game mode over others, so my experience is specific to the HUT game mode.  In a nutshell… this year, the numerous changes that have been made to rewards, player cards and pack prices makes playing HUT less rewarding and keeping a team competitive in HUT above my pay grade.  I always have and always will love the game and gameplay itself, I'm just not interested in playing the CPU in other modes.

I do appreciate that you asked and I sincerely hope EA NHL is successful going forward.

You are 100% correct, especially with the goalie situation. I recently played and my 85 goalie scored 2 goals on himself
