 I'm also playing with middle aged guys I've known since HS on the same EASHL team we've had since NHL 09.

I met these guys playing NHL 09. Which almost feels like I met them in high school. 

We do however turn off drop ins any time it gets competitive (like playoffs).  Too much randomness in who you get without any tools (like a kick option...hint hint).

We had a random LD last night that was really great to play with. Ended up dropping them for someone that was higher skilled, but not a good fit for our club. The lower ranked player we had previously would have been better to stick with. Regardless, more wins than losses and fun was had. I agree we need a kick option though since obviously there are those that just want to troll.

I’ve played leagues before.  A lot of BS that I don’t feel like dealing with.  That and the availability commitment.  

I get that and maybe some items are exclusive to previous years where if you didn't play then you don't get it later.  You know that FOMO in action.

Quick question...are you...me?  I'm also playing with middle aged guys I've known since HS on the same EASHL team we've had since NHL 09.  Bounce between silver to plat ranks depending on our luck.  Once or twice a week, EASHL has been our version of "poker night" or "bowling night" for years.  Always curious what the age distribution of the player base is.

Yea being able to buy what you want is cool, but would still be cool if there would be a small chance to find a rare item in bags. Not all items are even in the shop, not as a rotating thing but in general. like i have items from earlier years still and haven't once seen it in the shop

My main issues are with the gameplay tho

Since your the liaison from us to EA, whay have you heerd from them about RP. Will they look into changing it or keep it as is going forward? 

As always, we can't discuss anything that hasn't been announced yet so we'll have to wait and see if some news on that comes out.

Yep! Exactly this. I totally get that everyone has different priorities. Just saying, I don't mind rolling the dice with low ranked players since much of the time they turn out to be decent teammates. Myself and my club are more casual so it fits how we like to play. It would of course be different if we were looking for a more competitive experience. 

Have you ever thought about getting into LeagueGaming? Maybe not for just the leagues but playing in organized private matches. Honestly lots of that would push the tougher competition onto you, but it can also be frustrating when you play lots of these others. They will do whatever it takes to win.  Also they ban majority of the the X-Factors and all the red versions are banned. But that's just a thought if you are looking into something more organized/tougher.

I’m just very competitive.  After years of playing this game and getting to my skill level I hate losing to teams that were easily beatable because of one or two players that sucked and were the reason.  I also strive for RP and rank because it gives me something to play for (a goal).  I also want to play with better players to better myself so when I have a good RP and rank, I’m more likely to find those teammates and friends.
