Bingo. There could be a better balance for sure, but you're absolutely correct in that people are making terrible reads on possession changes. Having to battle against Wheels makes those decisions even more timely and consequential.
I personally think both things are true; Wheels needs a bit of a nerf and people need to play better defense. (Also, truculence has no place in this game)

Well said! People clamour for a new game every year, they get it - and then incessantly moan about how things have changed without giving themselves time to adapt.
Again, my argument for removing them isn't about winning and losing. My club still wins. My argument (read the initial post again) is that it limits the creativity of the gameplay and builds. EVERYONE is playing the same builds the same XF's. EA took Wheels and EE out of the game because they ruined it in the past. Competitive leagues are already banning them. Gone are regular tip ins, deflections (35% of goals in the NHL), shots through traffic (another 15%), etc. There is no semblance or organic goal scoring feel of real hockey anymore in 6's. It's become a one dimensional game based off of 75% of goals being breakaways, when only 25-30% of goals in the NHL are breakaways/in alone situations. That's it. It's not that complicated. EASHL become nothing like a hockey simulation when you have 6's going. I don't think any XF's should be in competitive 6's at all regardless of how good someone wins. Save the gimmicks and boosts for 3's players, ripping packs bros, and arcade.

EA wants every player to be able to create a build with every available X-Factor, and that comes with its own problems, but it's the lack of balance within the X-Factors is what creates that god-awful boring meta. LG and all the alike leagues have the right idea to ban these. I sort of wished they did awake with X-Factors and just gave us builds to work from and points to distribute to customize. I thought the end of NHL 25 was decent and fair across the board when it came to X-Factors, offense, and defense. 26 throws all that work out the window and now we're back to, "We are monitoring what's going on with X". You literally had all the data / tools in the previous game. It's frustrating and as someone who just plays D, there's no way at all that I'm paying full price for this game. Lol. Gamepass or bust. Maybe by that time they would have gotten back the balance they had in last years' game.
