Currently the xfactors do feel far too arcade like and make attributes feel almost worthless. I like the idea of xfactors, I don't wish they were gone, but they need scaled down and some probably do need to be removed at least in EASHL.
I like xfactors that allow specific animations or boosts to more niche aspects. Beauty backhand boosting backhand passes is cool, beauty backhand increasing speed of backhand shot by 100% or whatever is NOT ideal, why can't it be a smaller boost to accuracy and speed of the backhand shot?
I bring up beauty backhand just as an example. A lot of the xfactors could be great, if they were tuned in a way that made sense, and made players feel different. When we have xfactors that are far better than others we end up with everyone running the same things which defeats the entire purpose that xfactors were supposedly created for. Have the xfactors boost smaller aspects but also less effectively. Doing this would allow for far more xfactors and for players to play a lot differently. I feel like it wouldn't take too much time to create all new xfactors and make them a lot more balanced. Idk, just my thoughts..
I think most xfactors have a place in HUT or VS probably.. but probably not EASHL. That mode should have some that are just not an option. EASHL should have a handful of changes to increase competitiveness. I don't think broken sticks or broken glass have much of a place in a competitive environment. Keep that in offline play but not online. I also don't think the game should force us to fight after a clean hit, people playing with female skaters so they don't have to.. EA can't see that many people don't want to fight? And outdated system and then you sit in a box for way too long.. idk i digress. Make xfactors semi realistic and semi balanced is all I'm asking for.
rsandersr47 Na Xfactors need to be replaced with Boost packs. NHL 14 had it perfect Ea just blew it when it came to Attributes themselves and getting them to work properly.
Xfactors basically make Attributes irrelevant especially the way they have them set now. Boost packs just adds on to Attributes which is how it should be. Attributes make EaSHL what it is. Customization at the fullest. Xfactors especially the way they are on this game make everyone a prebuild. It ruins the customization of Eashl.

Agree to disagree. I never played NHL 14 but I like more differences between players and Xfactors allow for that more than simple attributes imo. Slight changes to annimations and abilities are cool. I just don't like seeing +100% to hitting power or w/e trucculence is. Either way EA will never get rid of Xfactors. They are in all their games, they're pretty committed to it. Before xfactors were in the game I thought all the players were only marginally different. Maybe you have a different experience.
