Player base isn't big enough. The wait times are already ridiculous sometimes, if they matched people based on skill, the wait would be even longer. It stinks, but until they start making a better product, people aren't gonna come back to this franchise.
And then you realize that just 3 or 4 years ago, they had no problem splitting the player base into 4 different queue pools (old gen, new gen, PS & Xbox) the matchmaking problem is easily solvable, but when you refuse to work on the things that are NEEDS in your game, and instead aim for buzz features like Celebrini voice acting (literally takes away from the immersion of BAP he sounds that disinterested but that’s another conversation) this is the result.EA_Aljo any comment?
