World of chel match making.

Wtf is my less than 100 game team matched up against teams that have over 4k games? What is the point of have Chel divisions if we are playing division 1 teams and are in division 6.... can anyone explain this to me.

"The builds aren't P2W. Attributes play only a small role in the general outcome of games."

The builds are p2w this is an objective truth, the term has been defined several times to you. Prove how they're not using the defined term. Taking it litterally is not a "gotcha" as I said before, this is like saying everyone is AFK.. obviously we understand AFK doesn't just mean away from keyboard and can encompass a controller, right?

Show the proof using some sort of data of the exact impact attributes have. I asked for premise form logical proof before and you wrote several paragraphs just telling me you're right with no proof, no premise to point to being correct. Additionally, once again using the definition tell me how that data suggests it's not P2W. Thanks! Looking forward to the constructive feedback!

Perhaps a good compromise would be keep 3v3 and 6v6 as the core modes with Ones, Eliminator, Arcade, NHL 94, etc. coming back as limited time events like they do already for things like the wild-west one they have running right now.

    This is a great idea

I agree with you on reducing modes, though recognize there are players who would not like losing Ones or Eliminator.  Selfishly it would promote the modes I like more.  Perhaps a good compromise would be keep 3v3 and 6v6 as the core modes with Ones, Eliminator, Arcade, NHL 94, etc. coming back as limited time events like they do already for things like the wild-west one they have running right now.

That's essentially how it was done in the past. Just my opinion, but I think the online player-base for World of Chel was far too fragmented between all the different modes, so 3v3 or 6v6 suffered longer matchmaking times as a result. EA pivoted away from team RP matchmaking in favor of just one large pool of team matchmaking meaning top tier teams could match with casual clubs.

What needs to happen is EA needs to decide whether WoC really needs all the modes it has or can be stripped down in favor of more skill-based matchmaking. Players who spend their time in ONes or Eliminator may be upset, but allowing drop-in players to search only for open club spots would really go a long way in bringing back people who despise the current drop-in setup. The biggest gripe is the vibe of a drop-in that's full of randoms. It's a snoozefest. Whereas joining a club as a random instills a sense of wanting to do well for the team who has adopted you.

Move away from individualistic modes and encourage more teamplay by way of seamless integration of drop-in players and clubs with open spots.

The only time rank/RP is taken to account is playoffs, and thats only to determine which of the two divisions you play in. Its done to get you into a game as soon as possible.   That said, many don't like it and I think they have heard our complaints.  I hold out hope for a different model in '27.

I really would like to see average team RP used as a metric to search for teams in a similar range.  If search time is an issue, expand the range over time.

  • Mercy/forfeit would only add to the frustrations that unbalanced matching brings. What really is the point of divisions/RP/rank if they mean nothing?

We have p2w builds to contend with now, backing out when matched with a bad team has a high chance of glitching the game out, we still get red bar matchups all the time, you can get the same team over and over again which only wastes time, etc.; so many issues to deal with.

  • Lets just go over the parameters in the game if you wanted a balanced matchmade game.
    1. Overall playerbase/clubs actively searching for that game mode with that number of players.
    2. The Clubs Division.
    3. The Clubs total RP.
    4A. Your dressing room lobby's combined/average RP.
    OR
4B. Your dressing room lobby's highest RP player.
    5. A server that is manageable for both lobbies.

People do not want to wait long times to find a game so I think it just basis it on whoever you can find that is searching within a reachable server for everyone. It's also why I say you add a forfeit option or a mercy rule of like 5 goals so the games can end quicker and people have a better chance to find a new game that matches their skill level since those games would go three periods where a mismatch in skill may only last one before mercy rule applies. Many other games have added it and a game that averages around three 7-8min periods should have one as well IMO.
