91 Record Breakers Protas has only +1 Speed vs 83 TOTW

Speed and Acceleration on the 91 OVR is 87.

Speed and Acceleration on the 83 OVR is 86.

The 83 TOTW also has 90 Faceoffs but the 91 OVR has 87 Faceoffs.

In total, the 91 beats the 83 by 151 attribute points, which, over 24 attribute categories is only +6 OVR. So the 83 is actually an 84 and the 91 is actually a 90.

Total Attribute rating 83: 2012 ÷ 24 = 83.83

Total Attribute rating 91: 2163 ÷ 24 = 90.12

But these ratings for the 91 are absolutely terrible. The 83 is arguably better because of the low salary. Without any significant improvement to speed, the other categories are basically worthless. If he can't skate, he can't get the puck, so shooting, hands, defending is all out the window.

His discipline is 80 OVR on both cards. But Fighting Skill changes from 80 to 87.

There must be a huge mistake with this 91 OVR card. It's so bad.

Please investigate.

I'm not sure about a huge mistake. It seems to me like the 83 TOTW is a custom build card whereas the 91 Record Breakers and 89 Next Gen are normal progression cards.

If you compare the 91 to the 81 base card, the 91 has +10 in all stats except for +5 speed and acceleration. And if you do the same with the 89, it has +8 and +4 compared to the 81 base card.

On the 83 TOTW many stats are better than normal progression stats, some stats are the same as normal progression stats and only a few stats are worse than normal progression stats.

Well the 91 compared to other 91s that were released is completely unusable.

Even that new 92 Superstar Origins Sidney Crosby has 88 Speed and 88 Accel.

Yeah I agree. The +0.5 speed and acceleration per overall rule is not good.
