Adaptive AI

So will coaches pull the goalie with more than 20 seconds left now? And better yet will the defending team actually protect the puck rather than letting the attacking team shoot it uncontested into a gaping net? This has been an issue since...PS2/Xbox I believe.

I'm sorry but for this Gen systems, adaptive AI should govern the gameplay. The whole game should be dynamic. We're already 7 games in and that still hasn't happened. Sorry but I'm not holding my breath for 27

  • They could make it so easy for themselves:

    Random random = new Random();

    // Call this when the game time remaining hits 2 minutes (120 seconds)
    public int GetRandomizedSeconds()
    {
        // Generates a random number between 30 and 120
        return random.Next(30, 121);
    }

    One of the more frustrating aspects of the cpu teammates/AI.

  • I kind of wish the 2 minutes were actually 2 minutes in real time when they pull the goalie or at least give us the option to make it 2 minutes real time.

    The AI gets way too passive with an empty net. Instead of pressuring the puck carrier, they just keep backing up and give them all the time in the world.

    Oh man. I agree 100%. The coach wouldn’t pull the tender at all for a couple of years so at least that’s better. But it’s maddening watching your “d” just back in without the slightest challenge to the opposing puck carrier when your net is empty. Who else has sat there and screamed at your cpu teammates to attack?

    I'd like to see those situations handled better too. Smarter late-game AI, better puck management, and more realistic coaching decisions would make games feel a lot more authentic.
