Why does the power play team play shorthanded and the penalty kill team play with power play tactics in Be a Pro? The AI attacks 3-on-5 while leading late in the game.
Seriously, this isn't how hockey is played—can't anything be done about this yet? I already brought this up back during NHL25. Why do we have to play this "suicide hockey"?
My friends and I have been discussing this and noticed that the AI coach doesn't switch to a defensive tactic at all when shorthanded, which is what causes this situation. I notice that the opposing coach generally changes the team's tactics only two or three times per game, which is really very few. How hard would it be to fix this in an update?
I just played a game where the opponent scored two shorthanded goals while my teammate and I were positioned at their blue line—meaning they attacked as if we weren't even on the ice... It was like a 5-on-3 attack, even though it was actually 4-on-5. So, during that same power play, two shorthanded goals and two power-play goals were scored. Isn't that absolutely crazy?
