Yup, i loaded up NHL legacy yesterday and im APALLED at how bad this years game is compared to 10 year old games. They have the stones to release this and talk it up like its something good. This game is 100 steps back from games we had 10 years ago. EA should really be ashamed of themselves, but they dont care so long as they're turning a profit. Honestly, I wish the NHL would BAN them from using their license because this is a disgrace to the game of hockey. Id be willing to bet that 90 percent of the dev team has never watched a single game of hockey in their lives.
Also, my new GF is a software engineer who works on games herself, and she walked into the room when I was playing this years game and asked me why I was playing an OLD hockey game instead of the new one. I told her this was NHL27 and she laughed and said she thought it was old because ps3 games had better graphics, and im so used to mediocrity from EA that I never really noticed but YEAH, the graphics are absolutely HORRENDOUS for a game in 2026. Do better EA, cuz ive bought every game youve ever made since the start, but you're losing lifelong customers now with your laziness, and most of all greediness. The very year that HUT became a thing was the same year the overall quality of these games started going downhill. You have since then prioritized monetizing the game further after we have already paid for it, instead of giving the loyal customers a quality, fully functioning product at release. IMO every single person who is involved with decision making on this series needs to go work on mobile gacha games if they want to design software made to manipulate people and rip them off, and leave the NHL series to people who are actually passionate about hockey.
