I'm with you on this particularly the penalties aspect,  offline franchise played only and never saw a high stick,  hooking or the odd trip taken by cpu opposition.  All I've seen is x check,  elbow and holding with the odd trip about every 3 games. Nhl26 was a poor reflection of ice hockey.
