Agreed. The time window to hit needs to be increased somewhere in between. It's way too short right now and causing tons of interference penalties

I think its slightly overtuned however maybe only by a second or so.. as I have seen some are being called in that window.

The rule in hockey is 0.5-1 second, stick length or initiating the check before the puck is released.. 

The uptick in penalties is due to NHL 26 not enforcing this sort of penalty and players getting into a habit of knowing they can get away with late hits.
