The same rookie cutscenes play every season, the radio show and James Cybulski still call you "The Rookie" and do all the same rookie cutscenes every season it never stops. The game thinks you are a rookie forever it doesn't fix itself.
Hey, @bigDaddayKane
Does this happen if you create a new Franchise save file? Curious if it happens every time you play BAP as a goalie it does this for you or if it is a rare bug or corrupted save file.

I've started new careers, tried creating a new save file.. still a rookie. In my 4th season.

Is it only the cut scenes and dialogue or does it also show you as a Rookie for stats?- 4 years ago
It's all of it, though it does not seem to affect career progression at all. Every stat line for each season is listed in my bio page, complete and consistent as the years progress. Through 4 complete seasons, however, the in-game dialogue from Cybulski, Ferraro and the social media woman whose name unfortunately escapes me at the moment (Hannah?) always talk about me being a rookie. My stats for the current season I'm playing are always listed under Rookie Goalies. Ray constantly talks about my chances for the Calder even though I had 62 starts last year and 53 the year before, and have 40+ career wins. I play for Buffalo, and every time I play Toronto for the first time in a season I get the cut scene of me alone by the rink and the announcers talking about my first time facing Toronto and how to gear up for a big game, even though I've faced them a few times over the last 4 years, including in the playoffs last year where we actually beat them in 6 games, before getting bounced by Boston. Reporters ask about my first win every year after my first win of the season. After big losses, they talk about how 'The Kid' might not be ready for this level, etc. (Incidently, it'd be nice if we could play a few seasons in the CHL, like we used to, so that we don't go the the NHL as an 18-year-old, 74-rated goalie and constantly have to hear how we have no chance at the Calder, but I know that's another issue...)
But, weirdly, and this is of course only because I just posted about how it thinks I'm a rookie after 4 seasons, I've just begun my fifth season, and James, Ray and Hannah(?) seem to finally acknowledge that I'm no longer a rookie, and my season stats are only under Goalies, not Rookie Goalies anymore. So maybe the number of games for a rookie goalie is programmed at like 120 instead of 20 or something. Don't know, not a programmer, but I know tons of errors are simple things like putting a decimal in the wrong place.
So basically, rookie for 4 seasons and 150+ games, but starting 5th season, not a rookie anymore. At least, in my case. Hope this helps.

You realize this is the thread for an issue in NHL 22, right? So...last year's game. I have not had this issue in NHL 23. Looks like EA took all that money and used it to fix this problem. Maybe read the title first, or at least some of the posts, all of which state NHL 22, before you go off on forum moderator who's job in this case is collect as much information as possible regarding the issue and simply to pass on the messages to the devs.
Unless you're still playing NHL 22, which is cool, but why would a yearly release want to fix bugs in an older game when the newer one is already out?
Messages like yours make them NOT want to help you on your issue.
