12 years agoBeing tripped on a breakaway towards an empty net
I played an NHL 14 game with the NHL rule settings, and I got tripped on a breakaway towards an empty net in the final minute of the game. The referee awarded me a penalty shot on the other team's goaltender. This rule is incorrect in the game. In real life, at least in the NHL, you are awarded an automatic goal without having to take a penalty shot on the other team's goaltender. The official NHL rules for awarded/automatic goals are stated here: http://www.nhl.com/ice/page.htm?id=26310. Those rules should be applied in EA's NHL games too. Being tripped on a breakaway towards an empty net should not be treated the same as being tripped on a breakaway towards the other team's goaltender.
