can you use real player names?

I'VE PLAYED "BE A PRO" INTO MY 7TH SEASON AND IT SEEMS TO ME THAT THE NAMES HAVE BEEN MADE UP TO RESEMBLE FORMER NHL PLAYERS. I HAVE AN IDEA THAT, IF LEGALLY CORRECT, WOULD MAKE NHL 14 ONE OF THE HIG...

    Do you mean what you can name your pro? Or what names your team mates have? You are able to edit your pros' name prior to starting your career. It can be anything non-explicit. Team mate names cannot be altered.

This is a cool idea, but I dont think it would work do to licensing issues. EA doesnt have a deal with US Hockey, and I dont think the contract signed covers use of the person likeness in a video game.
