Cannot Invite Someone to Online Anything

Cannot invite a friend to play online versus. I get its peer to peer but the game does not even try to join. It only gives the option to "view game" and not join. Please Help

    Solved. He bought the PS4 version and was playing that on his PS5. Thanks for the assistance though

It's possible you and your friend have mismatched IP versions. If one of you is on an IPv4 address and the other on IPv6, this can happen. You both should be on IPv4. Take a look at the network settings screen again and let me know if you both are on IPv4 or not. Thanks.

I'm not really sure how to tell which one is in use. Looks like the PS5 uses both?

    @Durtymo 

    Does your friend also have something in the IPv6 setting? If one of you is on IPv6 and the other on IPv4, you may not be able to match up with each other. If there's some confusion on which you're using, it would be good to contact your ISP to find out.
