Change goalies in Online Versus?

Since they stupidly removed the option to switch goalies during the period, that's now a pointless waste of time as you can't change strategies, pick a line to start and importantly, if you've been getting tanked, throw in the backup.
If you know some way of adding this back into online Vs I'd be grateful as I'm playing with friends that are also frustrated by this.
