Another issue for EA to look at is old veterans (37+) asking for more than a few million. In year 5 offseason, Alex Radulov is 39 and 77 overall, asking for 4 million on a 1 year deal after playing 7 games the year before. Justin Schultz in the same offseason is asking for 2.5 million after playing 30 games in the AHL, and is 78 overall. It's not just the young players asking for ridiculous amounts of money, it is everyone.
Kaprizov just put up 120 points, leading the NHL, and is asking for 16 million. he's 91 overall. For context, Connor McDavid, at 98 overall, just signed for UNDER 12 million dollars (less than Draisaitl) and only put up 85 points. This alone is enough of a reason for concern about the current and future state of Franchise
