I think that’s an issue because no team still wants to make those trades for bad contracts. IMO the best way around that would be to make the trade value for bad contract players a negative value. Then we can finally use our cap space to help with rebuilding by getting a second or third round pick for agreeing to take someone like Matt Murray.
@kyl_35ive thought this as well. It's way too easy to shed bad contracts, even on hard trade value, often to a team that then can't sign a key player due to lack of cap
Just curious, has anyone played franchise mode with cap off? Wondering what you are seeing...do some teams start getting all the good players either on free agency or trades just like in the past prior to cap era?
With this contract insanity, I bet this is what EA is hoping we do...just turn off the cap.
- @Jtwong2780 I played with it off and just played all of the top players in the AHL, kept signing and didn't even notice what anyone was asking for. I wonder if it actually affects how much players ask for

- @johum2886 Ok I thought some teams controlled by cpu would start signing FA's to big contracts to stack their team since cap is off
