Feedback for NHL 15
I was playing NHL 14 earlier, and it dawned on me that their are no zambonis in the game. I don't think I've seen one whatsoever. For being the staple hockey game on all consoles, zambonis during intermission is a must! If you're reading EA, providing us with a more interactive experience during intermission would be excellent. It doesn't have to be time consuming or anything (for instance if we're playing online), but something to help fully immerse the player is key. Zambonis, mascots, the environment of the arena as a whole; these aspects are what make watching an NHL game great. But don't make it a novelty (like how you did with the fighting system, no offense). Just a more realistic experience.
Changing the player ratings based on their real life counterpart was an excellent addition this season, for instance. It helps integrate real life hockey into the palm of our hands. Fans banging on the glass and quirky green-men hounding the players in the penalty box are examples of what makes hockey so fun. But again, make it realistic, not a novelty. I just want to feel like I'm at a game, or I'm watching a game on TV. I don't want it to feel like a gimmick. I want it to feel real. The fighting in the game...not real. Players don't fight like that. Sure you get enforcers every now and then that square off, but a lot of the fights are among all the players on the ice, in a big scrum. Make it more organic. Keep the one on one fights for those rare occasions, but I want to feel like my whole team is backing me on the ice as I avenge my teammate that got checked from behind, or I go in to hold off the third man from sucker punching one of my guys.
Also, no doubt NHL 14 is fun, but the new physics or collision system you guys have is definitely not realistic. I've never seen so many open ice, vicious hits in a hockey game before. Granted, people like the hitting, but it takes away from the other great parts of the game.
So yeah, zambonis would be cool.
